Hi, Can anyone tell me how to turn up or unmute the volume on windows XP, without using a screen reader?

I'm sure there is more than one way to do it.

Thanks

quick mix is a very good program which saves all your volume control settings and you can restore them at any time to the position you had them before saving.
You can download it at http://www.ptpart.co.uk/quickmix/

Thanks, I'll check it out. It sounds helpful.

Are there any ideas on accessing the volume controls just from Xp, without installing extra applications?

Thanks again...

Type sndvol32 into the runline. Then tab around the window several times using a page up. When you're certain you've done this enough times that you've hit every possible control so none are at 0, then tab around pressing space bar twice with just enough time between them so you'll hear if something gets unmuted.
Believe me, I've had to do this a few times. IT's messy and you'll have to change your options back when you get whatever it was that was turned down or muted fixed up, but it usually will do the trick.

I thought there was a command for the volume controls from the Run dialogue, but didn't know what it was,

Thanks
